Must-Have Overalls

One thing I’ve realized over the years about my style: I. Love. Overalls. They’re easy to throw on, they’ve got that relaxed vibe and when they fit just right, you feel like a million bucks in them. When I saw this pair while clicking through the New Arrivals tab at ModCloth, I knew I had to give them a try. They showed up on my doorstep a few days later and as I slipped myself into them, I looked in the mirror and did a happy dance. I talk a lot about postpartum body image here and on my Instagram feed, and when you order something that just fits in all the right places, it’s totally worth that squeal of happiness and big cheesy grin. I couldn’t wait to share these with y’all…!

Though it’s still a gazillion degrees in Austin right now, this outfit gets me so excited for fall. My sister and I grabbed coffee and then shot this look in the morning, so it was still cool enough to get away with denim overalls and a long sleeve top. These overalls are stretchy and lightweight enough to wear in the summer – you could rock a basic black tank top ($15!) or fun retro tee shirt for a breezier outfit option. For reference, I’m wearing a small and I am 5’6. My long sleeve top is more of a burnt orange color in person (similar to the product image online, but richer in color) and I’m wearing a medium. The ruffle trim adds a fun, feminine touch and it would also be super cute paired with kick flare or high rise skinny jeans, a belt and ankle booties.

I am a big fan of brands who encourage body positivity and inclusivity when it comes to their range of sizes and styles. ModCloth is known for celebrating all body types and I love that this jumpsuit comes in every size ranging from xxs to 4x – and they have multiple models showcasing what it will look like on different body types (and hint hint: they look fabulous on everyone). That’s incredible and absolutely a brand I will proudly root for!
